The rate of delisting in the stock market doubled

 Economic crisis: Delisting in stock market doubles, 13 companies delisted in six months

         The delisting rate in the stock market during the first six months of the current calendar year has more than doubled compared to the last 3 years. A total of 13 companies have been delisted from the stock market during this period. According to PrimeDatabase, by June 2021, 13 companies will have raised Rs.           According to NSE data, 7 of the delisted companies have voluntarily delisted.  While most companies have delisted as part of liquidation.  Earlier in 2014, 22 companies were delisted.  From then until 2019, the number of delisted companies continued to decline.  The number of SMEs out of the total delisted companies is negligible.


         On the other hand, a total of 23 companies have been listed in the IPO in bigflood during the current calendar year.  SEBI has recently issued a circular providing delisting facility to companies planning to delist subsidiaries through a scheme of arrangement.  Subsidiaries of a bunch of listed companies are listed on the stock exchange.  Most of the business is the same.  This facility is provided for them.


Plan to delist 47 companies. 

        A further 47 companies plan to delist from the NSE based on data released by the NSE. Among them, Gitanjali Gems, Sterling Biotech and other midcap and small cap companies have the highest proportion. The list includes Favorite Beverages, Gujarat NRE Coke, Value Industries, MTech Auto, Nakoda, Surana Corporation, BS Limited, Lakshmi Energy and Fuse Limited, Pratibha Industries, Bharti Def. - Infa Ltd. Like suspended and default companies involved for the past one year.


31 companies were taken over out of Rs 8862 crore. 


           The 31 listed companies have been taken over by another company in the current calendar year. According to PrimeDatabase, the number of company takeovers is likely to increase this year. Last year, a total of 47 companies took over in 2020. Its deal size is Rs. 5304.10 crore. 57 companies were taken over in 2019 and 66 in 2018. According to which, the number of takeovers has decreased in the last 3 years.
